What is collected?

• Only drink bottles made from PET plastic with the PET recycling logo.
Please remember: squeeze the air out and put the lid on!
Squeezing provides space for three times as many bottles. Both in your carrier bag as well as in thevrecycling container and truck.

What is not collected?

• Milk, cream and yoghurt drink bottles
(plastic bottles are collected separately by most major retailers)
• Beakers for drinks, ice cream, yoghurt, etc.
(normal waste)
• Bottles for detergents and cleaning agents
(plastic bottles are collected separately by most major retailers)
• Bottles for shampoos and cosmetic products
(plastic bottles are collected separately by most major retailers)
• Blister packaging (plastic trays) for meat products, salads, vegetables and fruits, etc.
(normal waste)
• Bottles for vinegar, oil and salad dressings
(plastic bottles are collected separately by most major retailers)
• All waste

Important to know

Empty PET bottles can be returned to all sales outlets. There are also PET recycling containers in allcities and towns, in schools and hospitals, at fuel stations, railway stations, kiosks and private companies, as well as at recreational events. In total, there are more than 50’000 collection points throughout Switzerland.

Why should I collect?

PET recycling plays a key role in protecting the environment. Recycling PET drink bottles reduces theimpact on the climate by 74 per cent compared to incineration at a waste incineration plant. After all, recycling can prevent the emission of greenhouse gases – mainly CO2. This is good for the climate.
Currently, 138’000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions can be prevented in Switzerland every year thanks to PET recycling.
